Ballet and Yoga
I was born and raised in Corfu, Greece. At the age of 16 I won a national competition in Ballet and a special distinction in Modern Dance. In the same year I started studying professional ballet dance in Germany (John Cranko School) and later in Austria (Ballettkonservatorium St Polten). At the age of 22 I returned to Greece where I began studying Computer Science for a couple of years. Eventually my interest in CS faded away and I returned to ballet where I taught children for more than 8 years.
Here is a video of my performance of Bhakti at 16:
I also taught yoga and created several yoga choreographies. Here is one of them where I also dance with my students:
Chess
At the same time I began pursuing chess, initially as a volunteer at chess clubs and later as regular teacher. For more than 5 years, I taught chess to school children from the age of 4 to 9. My students received many local first prizes and few national ones as well!
What initially started as helping in the organization of local children’s tournaments, slowly developed into a passion for chess arbiting. Most notable tournaments I took part as an arbiter were: London Chess Classic Open (2015-2019), European Team Championship – Women (2017), and FIDE World Youth – Cadets Chess Championships – girls U18 (2015) and several Fide World Amateur and Veterans Tournaments in Greece.
My Fide titles: International Arbiter (2020) Fide Arbiter (2017), Fide Developmental Instructor (2014)
Since 2018 I went full time into the Tourism industry where I work as a FO Manager.
